Virtuoso, dreamer, action enthusiast: When I am not in my shadowy chamber pursuing my next project and designing new worlds and characters, I spend my time with my daughters or explore the vast forests of my chosen home in Hesse—the very woods that inspired the Brothers Grimm's fairy tales. Along the remnants of the Limes, the spirits of Romans and Germanic tribes can be felt in equal measure, and sometimes I emerge from those mist-draped hills with new tales to capture on paper for you. Despite the darkness of my stories, I deeply love the world we live in and try to protect it wherever I can.
