Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by MetaSites Studio LLC in Frankfurt am Main, Deutschland. When the website is accessed, the server processes technically necessary access data such as IP address, time, URL, referrer, browser identifier and status code. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is secure and stable website operation.
Contact inquiries
If you contact us by email, we process your information to handle the inquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual or contractual inquiries and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Manuscript upload
For manuscript uploads, we process name, email address, project title, genre, language, word count, pitch, notes and uploaded PDF, Word or ODT files. The data is used only to review the submission, communicate with the author and support internal publishing decisions. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual steps and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for internal review and documentation.
Publisher shop and Stripe
The shop is technically prepared. As long as Stripe is not connected, no payment processing through Stripe takes place. After activation, order and payment data will be processed for contract performance and transmitted to Stripe as payment service provider. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Specific Stripe details will be added once the Stripe account has been set up.
Cookies and local storage
This website does not use analytics or marketing cookies. Technically necessary local storage is used for the cart and consent status. This storage is required for the requested functions. The legal bases are Sec. 25(2) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for shop-related functions.
Retention
Contact inquiries are deleted once handled unless statutory retention duties apply. Manuscript submissions are generally deleted 6 Monate nach Abschluss der Prüfung, sofern keine längere Aufbewahrung erforderlich ist. If a submission becomes a publishing project, relevant data is stored for contract performance and statutory retention periods. Commercial and tax-relevant order data is retained according to statutory periods.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time with future effect. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
